July 20, 2023

Welcome to a new era of QR code personalization and user engagement with our latest innovation: rule-based dynamic QR codes! This groundbreaking feature allows you to create dynamic QR codes that intelligently redirect users to different destinations based on their country or device type. Say goodbye to generic QR codes and embrace the power of customized interactions!

Understanding rules and conditions

At the heart of this feature lies the ability to set up rules using three key components:

  1. Field: The "Field" refers to the attribute that serves as the basis for making redirection decisions. Currently, you have two options:

    • Country: With this field, you can target users based on their geographical location, allowing you to provide localized content and targeted promotions.
    • Platform: This field enables you to differentiate users based on their device type (e.g., iOS, Android, Windows...). Tailor the user experience to match the specific capabilities and preferences of each platform.
  2. Operator: The "Operator" defines the type of comparison used to evaluate the "Value" against the chosen field. There are two choices:

    • Equals: Use this operator to precisely match a single value. For instance, you can redirect all users from France to a specific landing page.
    • Is one of: This operator allows you to create more versatile rules. You can input multiple values as an array, and if the user's country or platform matches any of these values, the corresponding redirection will be triggered.
  3. Value: The "Value" represents the specific data you want to compare against the chosen field using the selected operator.

Personalized redirections made easy

Example 1: Country-based redirection

Let's say you're running a global marketing campaign, and you want to provide region-specific offers to users from different countries. With rule-based dynamic QR Codes, you can easily achieve this:

  • Field: Country
  • Operator: Equals
  • Value: France

In this example, when users from France scan the QR code, they will be redirected to an exclusive offer page tailored to their country. Similarly, you can create rules for other countries to ensure a localized experience for every user.

Example 2: Platform-based redirection

Your website offers both Android and iOS apps, and you want to ensure that users are directed to the appropriate app store based on their device type:

  • Field: Platform
  • Operator: Is one of
  • Value: [Android, iOS]

In this case, users on Android devices will be redirected to the Google Play Store, while users on iOS devices will be directed to the Apple App Store. Users on other platforms will land on the default destination, ensuring a seamless experience for all.

Example 3: Advanced rule combination

The true power of rule-based dynamic QR codes shines when you combine multiple conditions:

  • Condition 1:
    • Field: Country
    • Operator: Equals
    • Value: Germany
  • Condition 2:
    • Field: Platform
    • Operator: Is one of
    • Value: [Android, iOS]

In this scenario, you're targeting users from Germany who are using either Android or iOS devices. You can redirect them to a country-specific landing page or offer while still catering to their specific device preferences.
